About the Show
Escape, from physical confinement, the mental distraction from reality and routine, a breaking-free from controls/emotions, and a key to interrupt day to day operations. The variety of subjects explored in this theme challenge the meaning of death, the liberation from institutions, instinctual response to danger, and much more.
The exhibition focuses on the artists’ individual views of Escape.
Escape promotes a dialogue between artists and audiences on the interpretations of the theme. The exhibition explores the impact of mental, physical, and emotional relationships and the desire to escape both literal and fictional concepts.

1310 GALLERY SAILBOAT BEND ARTIST LOFTS HAS OFFICIALLY JOINED THE FLAGLER AND FAT VILLAGE ARTWALK VENUE IN DOWNTOWN FT. LAUDERDALE
Our first art walk night with FREE trolleys to 1310 Gallery, Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts was a huge success with over 200 guests coming to our gallery. The official event kicked off Saturday, January 31st the reception titled The Nature of Things, featured the art work of three of 1310 Gallery, Sailboat Bend residents: Exhibition features the work of Sylvain Denis (Shows Curator and Photographer), Barry Gross (Painter), Niko Yulis (Drawings). Curator Sylvain Denis invited outside artist Israel Ghelman (Sculptor) to participate and invited many of our residents to have open studios. Our community has received rave reviews for our participation and we are very excited moving forward.
Flagler/FAT Village’s Artwalk is held the last Saturday of every month and 1310 Gallery, Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts has jumped on board. We were invited by the Flagler/FAT Village community to join the art walk. Ft. Lauderdale has a very large and growing art community including 1310 Gallery which houses 37 artists and their families. Every month our gallery has art events curated by one of its residents. The shows vary in their themes and styles and there is always something new and provocative being shown; including musicians and performing artists. We are now offering free trolley services that link all of these venues together. Along with Flagler and FAT Village, 1310 Gallery has built a bridge to each others community and are collaborating together to put Ft. Lauderdale and it’s amazing artists on the map.
The full photo album of the art walk is listed here on our FB page along with many of our upcoming art events. Please like, share and invite your friends.
