People Pleaser is an immersive solo exhibition by Kelcie McQuaid utilizing art and technology to confront our profound human desire for acceptance and empathy. By exploring complexities of human emotions through a multitude of new media this exhibition encourages people to prioritize their authentic selves in a world that often demands conformity.

“People Pleaser” is a transformative solo exhibition of new multi-disciplinary artworks by artist Kelcie McQuaid. This exhibition is an exploration of the intricacies of identity, empathy and the desire to be accepted, delving deep into complexities of human emotions and interpersonal connections. Through a diverse range of artistic expressions and technologies, McQuaid seeks to captivate the audience, encouraging them to reflect on their own experiences, vulnerabilities, and a universal yearning for self acceptance. The exhibition will include painting, sculpture, writing, photography, mixed media, interactive installations and NFT’s. Each collection uniquely delves into different aspects of people pleasing as a trauma response, creating an emotive and immersive experience for visitors.

Kelcie painted 105 portraits of local community members. This VIP OPENING is a celebration of those people, for their friends and families, and the community at large.

Niki Lopez

Niki Lopez Afro-Latina, Queer, interdisciplinary Visual Artist, Curator, Social Practioner, Cultural Programer, award-winning Graphic Designer and Mom. Lopez is best known for her masks and a collection of works dealing with some of her trauma and healing through the arts which inspired her to create What’s Your Elephant ®. Lopez produces “The Circle”, a bi-weekly Facebook/Youtube live-video podcast sharing stories of our creative community, activists & social entrepreneurs. Niki’s advocacy includes mental health, self-care, and diversity in swimming. Lopez is one of the founding members of the Sailboat Artist Lofts.
